Page 115 "Another link between Virginia and the Ohio River was the Stauton (sic) - Parkersburg Road. Completed in 1847, it was one of the first all-weather roads in the state." The source is noted as "Writer's Program, West Virginia ("West Virginia: A Guide to the Mountain State" - one of the WPA guides.)
